Costa Rica is most famous for its coffee but has also a thriving Brewery and Brewpub culture since a few decades.
Costa Rica was for a long time known for its Imperial and Pilsen beers. In the last few decades, though, microbreweries have been popping up all around the country. This culture is especially prevalent in San Jose and northern Guanacaste area. There are many small and local breweries brewing many different beers using among other things local fruits, berries , herbs, and vegetables to flavor part of their beers. Cacao and Coffee of course but also fruits like mango and pineapple.
